In recent months several articles in major newspapers have highlighted an unsettling practice used by some companies in the SAT preparation industry. The companies in question use their own internally developed full length practice tests for their assessments. Unfortunately, some of these companies are intentionally making the first practice test that students take more difficult, in order to give the impression of greater score improvement over the course of the program.

We have always been concerned about the potential for companies to misuse their own internally developed practice tests in this way, but we never thought a company would have the gall to actually do so. Based on the findings of these articles, it now appears that many companies were utilizing this dishonest approach.

Since day one StudyPoint's policy has been to utilize actual real SAT's provided by the College Board as our assessments. More importantly, our score increase guarantee has always been based on your child's score improvement from his or her actual PSAT score to his or her actual SAT score after completing our tutoring. Unlike at other companies, our practice tests are used for practice and assessment purposes only, and they have no bearing on your child's eligibility for our guarantee. That eligibility is solely based on his or her results on the real thing - the PSAT and SAT.

We stand behind the quality and outcomes of our SAT tutoring, which is why we guarantee your results. If your child completes our 30-Hour SAT Program and doesn't improve by at least 200 points from his or her actual PSAT score, we will provide you with an additional 18 hours of SAT tutoring for free. Likewise, if your child completes our 24-Hour SAT Program and doesn't improve by at least 100 points, we will provide you with an additional 18 hours of SAT tutoring for free.
