College Visits and Finding the Right Fit For Your Child

Presented by Marci Reichelstein on July 19th, 2011

So you’ve done some research, talked to your high school counselor, and have a large list of potential colleges. Now what? In this presentation Marci Reichelstein, an admissions expert, helps to provide insight and ideas on how to find the best fit and choose a college that will help your child to reach his or her full potential.

A few of the topics that Marci covers are:

  • Will my student fit in better at a public school or private school?
  • Big school or small?
  • Career-focused or liberal arts?
  • What should students look for in college visits and what questions should we ask?
  • What if my student has a learning difference (ie. ADHD, Dyslexia, etc.)?

Marci Reichelstein is the President of Compass to College in Stanford, CA; in that role she extensively tours and meets with college admissions representatives at schools across the country to learn what they are really looking for in students. She has been a member of the Admissions team at Stanford University, Northwestern University and the University of Virginia. Marci holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Northwestern University.
